This is our DeWalt three blade heavy duty planer. This device is used to take the wooden spanking paddle blank down to it's desired thickness. This is a top of the line planer that is capable of planing even figured wood (lesser planers would tend to damage the wood greatly).

This is our DeWalt heavy duty scroll saw. We use this device to cut our all of our wood spanking paddle blanks. This is a powerful saw that can cut through even the densest exotic woods. We go through a large number of saw blades on this machine due to the toughness of the exotic woods our spanking paddles are created from.

This is a Jet direct drive belt sander. This is where all of the rough shaping happens. The wood spanking paddles acquire their rounded edges and pillow shaping from this machine. We start off with a rough belt to do the initial shaping, then switch to a finer belt in order to smooth the spanking paddle and refine the shape more. The spanking paddles spend a good amount of time on this machine in order to gain their unique shape.

All of our wood spanking paddles go through a multitude of sanding levels, starting at 120 grit on the belt sander. They then progress down through 220 grit, 600 grit, 1000 grit, 1500 grit and the finishing grit is a 4,000 grit sponge, Then they go to the polishing wheel before finally being oiled. This gives our spanking paddles the smoothest finish in the industry. Most spanking paddle makers sand down to a 220 grit and then laquer their product, I've met one paddle maker that sanded down to a 600 grit. We do not laquer our paddles unless it is requested. Our paddles are not stained, the natural beauty of the wood is what you see.
